About us
Most people fitting fire suppression have never assessed a building for fire risk in their life. We have.

Our expertise
Firesmart Mist uses genuine plumbing trade experience, with every installation carried out by qualified plumbers and electricians — not general labour doing a job outside their trade.
The company’s background includes operational firefighting experience and a Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor qualification, with Graduate membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (GIFireE), a qualified Fire Door Inspector certification, and IOSH Managing Safely and Health & Safety training up to Level 3.
We’re members of SNIPEF (the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation), hold SMAS Worksafe accreditation, and carry £2m public liability cover. References, insurance documentation and accreditation certificates are all available on request — so you’re never just taking our word for it.
That combination means Firesmart Mist isn’t just an installer. We understand fire risk assessment and compartmentation — exactly how running pipework through a building can affect fire separation if it isn’t done properly — and how to fit a suppression system without compromising the compartmentation that protects the building.
What we stand for
Straightforward, local and accountable — the way you’d want a fire safety job handled.
Based in the west of Scotland — a standalone company, not a franchise or a call centre routing you to whoever’s free.
We’ll tell you when mist is right — and when a different system suits you better.
Every system designed to the relevant British Standard and fully certified.
A clean, careful install that works around you and your building.
How we’re set up
Firesmart Mist is an independent, standalone company. We source our equipment from the SmartMist Systems network — the same source used by other independent installers in Scotland — but we price our own work and stand behind our own installations.
We cover both residential and commercial premises, including sauna and steam room suppression. Day to day, that means Glasgow tenements and Paisley HMOs, and homes and businesses across the west of Scotland, from the Highlands to the Solway, with the islands by arrangement. Our design and consultancy work is available UK-wide.
Residential and domestic water mist systems, designed to the standard Scotland’s building standards cite.
Fitted and commissioned by qualified plumbers, backed by 19 years of frontline firefighting.
Design and consultancy for architects, builders and developers.
Tell us about your building and we’ll design a water mist system that fits — clear, fixed quote, no pressure.
