COMPLIANCE
Water mist is covered by recognised British Standards — BS 8458 for residential and light commercial premises, and BS 8489 for larger commercial and industrial applications. BS 8458 was formally withdrawn in July 2025 and is being succeeded by BS EN 14972-17 — Scotland’s current building standards handbooks still cite BS 8458, so it remains the correct design standard today.
